Ingredients

  • 1 tin red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup Worchester Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • ½ cup golden syrup
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • Bacon, chopped finely

Method

1.Mix together Worchester sauce, tomato sauce, water, golden syrup, nutmeg and cinnamon in a bowl

2.Add mixture to beans and onion.

3.Stir thoroughly

4.Transfer to a casserole dish

5.Bake in moderate/slow oven for 1 ½ hours

6.Sprinkle uncooked chopped bacon on the top for the last 5 minutes

7.Let cool before serving
